don't be hatin'
so here’s the thing; yeah, i missed a few days. not that i wasn’t around. i was. seriously! i just didn’t post. (duh)
but here’s the thing – what the #$%@ is with you people?? well, not you people, but all the freakin’ republicans around here? holy bejeezus. this is a moment in freakin’ h-i-s-t-o-r-y, people. alright, fine, maybe you didn’t vote for him. maybe it only happened because people that had never voted finally did, but you know what? it’s over. he’s in. in like flynn. and the man’s sportin’ kevlar underoos, so no, no one’s gonna take him out. so be proud, okay? i mean, sure, there’s this group of black people, the one’s in the under-50 set that wasn’t around during segregation and racial oppression and didn’t have the right to vote. and yeah, they get all up on t.v. and they’re like, “this is so great for my people!!” and you’re “people” have grown up free, attended schools of your choice and gone on to be sucessful enough in your careers to be schmoozing around at an inaugural party in $1700 of armani. so no, this one isn’t for you. who it is for are the people like the hundred-year-old man who was in tears, because he sat in the back of the bus, he crapped in the outhouse behind the ‘colored only’ store, he marched on washington, d.c. and proudly remembers both not having to call another man ‘massa’ and the first time he got to go vote. he’s the guy that truly never thought in his lifetime he’d see a black president. so yeah, for his people, this is huge.
but you know who else this is huge for on a different-yet-same scale? the entire nation. because admit it; deep down somewhere, even though we’ve all been taught that anyone can do it, you never thought it’d actually happen. but it did. so be proud.
don’t be like my co-worker, who, as half of us were struggling to watch the inauguration on choppy streaming video and hoping to not lose audio at the least, passed by the door and said, “anyone take him out yet?” what is that?? you wish a man dead? seriously? because, what – he’s black? he’s democrat? he beat your guy and his barbie-doll running mate? and one of those is reason enough to wish him dead??
pfft. i take the high road, people. i say nothing. because it’s work. and work and politics don’t mix, i know. so let me let the man respond:
congratulations, mr. president. now, please, don’t screw it up any worse than it already is, huh? ;o)
oops. dude, sorry. :oX
