californication

so after much delay, we arrived. once we got past the air-travel debacle, everything was perfect. more than perfect, really. the weather, beautiful. the drive, gorgeous. the hotels, wonderful. the mountains – cool, the air – crisp.

we’ve charted a 1,000 mile trek over a six-day period. we started in the mountains in the lake tahoe national forest. skirted the shores of the bluest lake in the rockies. next we wound across the foothills and through acres and acres and miles of croplands.

we spend a good amount of time on the piers of san francisco and riding up and down the incredibly steep hills. and then the next day i showed him the ocean. there is something to be said for the reaction of someone that has never seen the great expanse of the mighty pacific, to observe them observing the crashing waves and roaring whitecaps. the pacific is powerful and strong and amazing and far and away more impressive than rinky-dink, pollution-prone, smelly-nasty galveston bay.

holly-wierd has been exciting. celebrity sitings have included danny boneduce dragging his own sample-case down hollywood boulevard

(he was even uglier in person)

steve carell (we ate lunch just *this* far away from him, i $hit you not)!

he looks exactly the same in person

scott grimes, or, as i’ve always known him, dr. archie morris of er – who, incidentally, i learned did not know how to ride a motorcycle and was taking lessons this day so that he wouldn’t look like a complete moron on an upcoming episode.

he was in scrubs, tho, no lab coat. oh, and looks the same in person.

and finally, completely by accident, snapped this last photo myself (shh!! i wasn’t supposed to, it was a “hot” set) of simon baker of “the mentalist” (though i remembered him far more vividly from “the devil wears prada”)

so now the day is done, time to wrap this up and head off into the sunset. did you know you have to fly out over the ocean before you can turn back and head home to houston? me neither! so more good stories to come upon my return…
