You don't GO to Denny's
you end up at Denny’s. Have you ever noticed? I mean seriously. There’s nothing good to be said about it. Even the new one up in Conroe, near 336? Sure, it’s clean. And the waitress was friendly enough. But the food? Ugh. Greasy. Tasteless.
I suppose that’s what I get for going to a restaurant with pictures of food on the menu. Because it doesn’t come to the table looking at all like the picture. He ordered nachos. Which looked great in the picture; I’d considered them myself. But what came to the table was stale chips swimming in orange grease, which had been stained such color by the soybean-supplemented, beef-flavored food byproduct that was supposed to be a protein subtance one could consume. I had something that was supposed to be a patty melt, I think. At this point I don’t rightfully recall, because frankly, it was toasted sourdough that was so greasy it was nearly transparent, thanks in no small part to a runny combination of cheese-food product melted atop the soybean-supplemented, beef-flavored food byproduct patty.
Needless to say, we won’t be going back. Unless stricken by some insatiable hunger pangs at some ungodly hour in the middle of a work-week with nothing else open in sight because of some unforseen nuclear holocaust which was the direct result of some stupid thing the President said and so therefore we’re there strictly under duress, being guarded at gunpoint and forced to eat. Yes, it’s that bad.
